About the project

Providence Was, Is, Will Be… We partnered with the Providence Streets Coalition (PSC), as they continue public engagement work around the implementation of a city-wide Complete Streets plan developed with support from People For Bikes. After discussing the PSC’s needs, we designed and created a multi-panel set of bike trailers that allow participants to share their thoughts about what they want from Providence as a whole and to see how Complete Streets can be a part of this vision. The banners on these billboard-style trailers depict how Providence has changed over time and envision a multi-modal complete streets look and feel. In addition, custom interactive elements, including a bike rack that holds information, tabling setup, and tyvek race bibs allow participants to share their vision. Being bike mobile allows the PSC to create engagement moments on location when Complete Streets construction starts, directly engaging residents about the streets they can see being constructed in their neighborhood.
